AV Vamanakumar hails from Nileshwar in Kasaragod district. Currently he is settled in Ernakulam.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• He holds double Post Graduate degrees in Economics and English literature.
• He took his graduation in Law from Govt Law College, Calicut with high first class.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & AWARDS

• He started his illustrious career as a college teacher and later turned to full time legal practice.
• He got enrolled as a lawyer under Bar Council of Kerala and started practicing as a lawyer at Hosdurg Bar in Kasaragod district.
• In 2009, he shifted his residence to Cochin and started practicing in the High Court of Kerala.
• He was very active in political field and contested in Kerala Assembly election as a candidate of Indian National Congress from Trikaripur constituency in 2006.
• Vamnakumar joined Junior Chamber International in 1991.
• After serving as its Zone President and national Executive Vice President, he got elected as JCI India National President in 2003.
• That year he became the first Indian to win the JCI World Award for the Most Outstanding National President.
• He is a qualified international trainer of JCI.
• He is also a Lions Certified Instructor Program Graduate.
• As a trainer by passion, he is very active in human resource development training since 1992 and has conducted more than 4000 training programs in more than 30 countries that Include USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Germany, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kuwait etc.
• He was awarded with JCI India’s National Award – Ravipuraskar for the most outstanding trainer of India in 2007.
• He is very active in Lions Clubs International and served as District Governor of District 318 C in 2018-19, Multiple Council Chairman of MD 318 in 2019-20, LCIF Multiple Coordinator
• Currently serving as Global Action Team Area Leader for Kerala, Karnataka and Goa.
• He was invited as one of the Panel Speakers of Lions International Convention in Boston in June 2023 and served as Group Leader for training Lions Governors Elect in Montreal and Chicago in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
